Summary of the investigation:
My primary research interests include global aspects of climate change and the effects of climate change on human health. In particular, I am focusing on the episodes of extreme temperature and their short- and long-term effects on chronic patients and study spatial differences in mortality response to heat waves, phenomena of urban heat islands and preparedness to shocks caused by the climatic fluctuations in terms of the infrastructure and health care service provision. I work with hundreds of datasets of diverse nature and base my analysis on geostatistical methods and machine learning techniques.
